BeerProv spilled onto the comedy scene for the first time in June 2010 in Toronto and quickly developed a reputation for being one of the funniest shows in Canada. Every show features a rotating cast of top improv comedians who use audience suggestions to instantly create hilarious, unscripted scenes on the spot. Through audience participation and just plain comedic antics, each performer is eliminated one by one until only the winner remains and is awarded the coveted "BeerProv Mug of Champions!"
Oh. And did we mention there's beer? Yeah. Everyone is encouraged to drink throughout the entire show. Especially the folks onstage...
Hosted by BeerProv founder and Second City Alum, Jim Robinson, the show has featured some of the funniest comedians from TV and film including Colin Mochrie (Whose Line Is It Anyway?), Sean Cullen (The Love Guru), and Gavin Crawford (Gavin Crawford's Wild Wild West / This Hour Has 22 Minutes). The BeerProv performer roster in both Toronto and New York includes Canadian Comedy Award winners, comedians from Second City, Upright Citizens Brigade, and The Peoples Improv Theater, as well as many recognizable faces from Canadian and American television. We are talking comedy royalty, people.
